Bloodvine

This colossal leaf succulent grows up to 118 feet (36.0 meters) tall. The narrow stem is burgundy, and is covered in handfuls of flexible blood red spines. The smooth-edged, circular leaves are caramel and pastel green. Handfuls of them grow from the base like a cabbage. The leaves are rigid, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid black petals decorated with gold dots and a blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 26 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like new books.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the bold blue flesh is slimy, and the green sap is thin.
