Clinging Crimson

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its gold or aquamarine stem is thin, and the giant, lime green leaves are pleated with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

5 to 10 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with red petals that gradient shift to crimson on the outer edge. The central disk is peach. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like roses, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
