Bronze Heartflower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray stem is thick, and the small, green or cream leaves are dark copper on the underside and are very thick with jagged edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with petals that are either pastel yellow or bronze, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 60 raised, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
