Crimson Petal Flower

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its caramel stem is thick and splits into 10 branching stems at the top, and the large, caramel leaves are thick with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

4 to 7 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are copper on the underside and crimson on the top. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like bleach, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to insects.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
