Violet

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its violet stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 7 and are thick and straight, and split into several branching stems at the top, and the small, caramel and moss green leaves are very thin with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

4 to 7 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are white in the center, brown in the middle and bold yellow at the edges. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They fall easily.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
