Copperfern
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous sturdy, wonky stems covered in wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is gray.
The branches are short and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either hazel or lilac, with magenta lines, tough and smooth.
In mid-spring it produces many medium-sized, copper flowers with 4 pointed petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like burning wood.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
