Emerald Crescent Moss

This green moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs, and In heathlands.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly delicate.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
