Crimson Puffgrass
Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This short, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in small clumps that are rigid.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, bronze puff.
During the early winter, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is very resistant to fire damage.
