Vinebark

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 88 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, crooked stems covered in wrinkled, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very short and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, slender, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either dark grey or beige, with blood red patches, frail and sticky.

It produces handfuls of small, black flowers with 3 kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like lemon. In late winter it forms largedull purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
