Bloodgrass

This average-sized, brown grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very narrow and elongated stalks grow in large clumps that are resilient and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, blood red puff.

During the early summer, it produces a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.
