Azureleaf Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 86 feet (26.2 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is yellow, and is covered in thousands of rigid silver spines. The toothed-edged, slender, pointed leaves are found in azure, slate and aquamarine varieties. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are rigid, but take little effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are bright blue at the sides and purple at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 25 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like coconut.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the brown flesh is rough, and the faded red sap is thin.
