Burgundy Fir
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This big tree grows up to 64 meters (210.0 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2925 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in fine, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy-brown.
The branches are short and slender, with hundreds of twigs covered with very large amounts of huge, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are light.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, orange, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
