Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs, In rainy mountain ranges, and In bogs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is slightly hardy; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
