Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 69 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has several narrow, curved stems covered in thick, ridged, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.
The branches are very short and thick with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, very narrow and elongated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either bronze, or aquamarine with dark brown lines, delicate and soft.
It produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, olive flowers with many layers of petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like meat. In late spring it forms tinylight brown seed pods.
