Coppervine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 5 feet (1.5 meters) and growing as high as 112 feet (34.1 meters).

It takes 5 months for the copper stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and gnarled.

The long, narrow, sticky leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are black and dull green, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces balls of tiny amber flowers.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It commonly grows in large patches.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for making strong rope
