Caramelvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 22 feet (6.7 meters) and growing as high as 104 feet (31.7 meters).

It takes 2 months for the yellow stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are soft and flexible.

The finger-like, clammy leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are found in caramel and copper varieties, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces many bunches of average red flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces plenty of tiny berries.


It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
