Silverpine

This modest-sized tree grows up to 20 meters (65.6 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1550 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in thick, ridged, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground, covered with thick bunches of giant, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are strong and tough.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, grey, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
