Indigo Vine

This big vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 145 feet (44.2 meters) and growing as high as 85 feet (25.9 meters).

It takes 4 years for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 1.2 feet (36 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The wide, waxy leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are found in olive and indigo varieties, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of tiny gold flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.
