Emerald

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thin and straight, and the small, burgundy leaves are spear shaped with serrated edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

3 to 8 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with bright yellow petals that gradient shift to white on the outer edge. The central disk is muted green. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of 16 raised, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a delicate scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
