Crimson Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant vine is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,457 feet (748.9 meters) and growing as high as 241 feet (73.5 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 42 years for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 11 inches (28 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The pleated, crispy leaves reach up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) in length. They are either crimson or bold yellow, with brown zig-zags, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces a thick sheet of average blood red flowers.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
