Coppervine

This huge flower grows up to 15.3 feet (4.6 meters) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and the large, gray-green leaves are fan-like with toothed edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

1 to 3 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 54 cm (21.3 inches) wide, with petals that are generally black; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is largely flat with 14 tightly layered narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like mint, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
