Bluevine

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 45 feet (13.7 meters) and growing as high as 991 feet (302.1 meters).

It takes 11 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The thick, smooth leaves reach up to 9 inches (23 cm) in length. They are blue and dark grey, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces clusters of average violet flowers.
