Crimson Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray, and is covered in large amounts of fine, pastel red, hair-like spines. The slender leaves are hazel on the edges and light brown at the center. Small amounts of them grow on thin, gray-green branches that are short, rigid and upright. The leaves are frail, but take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 10 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with aquamarine petals that gradient shift to cyan on the outer edge. The central disk is gentle red, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like fruity.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the black flesh is slimy, and the red sap is thin.
