Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 21 feet (6.4 meters) tall. The very thick stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle crimson spines.

It is slow growing, taking 23 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are beige in the center, turquoise in the middle and violet at the edges grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like lavender.

The cactus's skin is thick, the pink flesh is rough, and the blood red sap is thin.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
