Copperleaf Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 72 feet (21.9 meters) tall. The thick stem is olive, and is covered in thousands of flexible dark brown spines. The tattered-edged, finger-like leaves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to peach at the top. Handfuls of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 3, then 6, then 9, and so on. The leaves are flimsy, and detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 36 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are beige in the center, turquoise in the middle and violet at the edges grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like soap.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the silver flesh is rubbery, and the azure sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
