Copper

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its bronze or purple stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thin and straight, and the miniature, copper leaves are light olive on the underside and are pleated with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with alternating petals of slate and green, with a violet central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like paint, and it has copious amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
