Copper

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 41 feet (12.5 meters) tall. The narrow stem is gray-green, and is dotted with small crimson spines. It has a wonky, wide, olive trunk atop a wide web of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are narrow and silver and are short, thin and wispy.

The smooth-edged, asymmetrical leaves are either red or amber, with cream patches. They are sturdy, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either copper or gentle yellow, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 16 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like cinnamon.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the light brown flesh is soft, and the aquamarine sap is thin.
