Caramel

This big shrub grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for around 28 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous sturdy, wavy stems covered in paper-thin, smooth, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of tiny, spear shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either washed-out purple, or silver with copper dots, sturdy and crispy.

It produces handfuls of large, caramel flowers with long, narrow petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like new books. In late autumn it forms largewhite seed pods.
