Climbing plantAzure vine

This huge vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,576 feet (480.4 meters) and growing as high as 850 feet (259.1 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 11 years for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 4.2 feet (1.3 meters) and are smooth and slick.

The fan-like, clammy leaves reach up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) in length. They are azure at the bottom and slate with brown lines at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many small deep red flowers.
