Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 17 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, wavy stems covered in smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with handfuls of large, 5 pointed, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are copper on the sides and caramel at the center, robust and smooth.

It produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, caramel flowers with 4 shield-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like apple. In early summer it forms giantbronze, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
