Violetbrush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 130 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, straight stems covered in silky, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short, thin and wispy that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, thin, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are beige and violet, hardy and sticky.

In late spring it produces copious amounts of tiny, azure flowers with 5 V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like onion.
