Caramel Starburst Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This short cactus grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 thick stems. Each stem is orange-yellow or caramel, and is covered in hundreds of flexible yellow spines. The spherical body is gray-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible yellow spines.
It is fast growing, taking 11 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either aquamarine or dark grey, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of many tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like cinnamon.
The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the dark brown flesh is leathery, and the indigo sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
