Crimsonvine

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its lime green stem is very thin and straight, and the small, red leaves are dark moss green and emerald on the underside and are long, narrow with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Lots of medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with solid brown petals and a silver central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like varnish, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
