Copperfern

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is copper, and is covered in brittle olive spines. The wonky, crimson trunk can grow to as much as 4 feet (1.2 meters) in diameter at the bottom. Its gray-green branches are short stubs and start growing at the base the stem.

The sparse amounts of smooth-edged, asymmetrical leaves are a shade of black or faded yellow that gradient shifts to turquoise at the top. They are durable, and take some effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with aquamarine petals that gradient shift to bronze on the outer edge. The central disk is red grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is largely flat with several widely spaced narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like fresh linen.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the dark grey flesh is soft, and the red sap is thin.
