Orange Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 needle-like stems. Each stem is orange, and is dotted with small orange spines. The spherical body is gray-green, and is covered in brittle gold spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 30 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with blue petals and a crimson central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The cactus's skin is thick, the peach flesh is waxy, and the pink sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
