Copperleaf

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 28 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many knobbly, straight stems covered in thin, cracked, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, very thick, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are green with aquamarine tips, strong and rough.

It produces hundreds of large, yellow flowers with circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume. In late winter it forms largegold seed pods.


It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
