Copper Succulent

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall. The narrow stem is copper, and is covered in copious amounts of fine, vivid red, hair-like spines.

It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid gold petals decorated with olive lines and a turquoise central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cotton.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the lilac flesh is rubbery, and the peach sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
