Blackvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 23 feet (7.0 meters) and growing as high as 305 feet (93.0 meters).

It takes 10 months for the emerald stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and gnarled.

The pleated, smooth leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are found in caramel, beige and black varieties, and have rounded edges.

It is suitable for making paper
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
