White Crescent Moss

This white moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly delicate.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
