Crimson Petal

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thin, and the large, red leaves are pleated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two large flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with red petals on the lower layer and dark grey petals decorated with dark grey dots on the inner layer. The central disk is olive. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has a faint scent that smells like rainy days, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
