Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 57 meters (187.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 691 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in hard, silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy.

The abundance of branches are very short and thin, covered with large amounts of miniature, emerald needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces giant, slate, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for making paper
