Copperfruit

This giant fruit tree grows up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 66 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in fine, cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are grey with intense blue tips.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, cyan blossoms with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like vomit.

In early summer it produces small, slender, 2 pointed fruit. The smooth aquamarine skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is sweet and sour and powdery. The bold red seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
