Amberfern

This enormous shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 70 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, wavy stems covered in waxy, silver bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with small amounts of giant, long, tapering, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid amber or bold red, with purple edges, delicate and leathery.

It produces handfuls of giant, blue flowers with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like cotton. In midwinter it forms giantdark brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
