Violet

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 32 feet (9.8 meters) and growing as high as 104 feet (31.7 meters).

It takes 2 years for the silver stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and waxy.

The finger-like, rough leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are grey at the bottom and violet with amber dots at the top, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the bine produces handfuls of large grey flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of tiny seed pods.
