Brown Velvet Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainforests, and In bogs.
It is massive, growing up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely flexible.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
