Copper

This large fruit tree grows up to 41 feet (12.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 32 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the very light wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of large, perforated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid white or cream, with yellow dots.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, vivid red blossoms with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like roses.

In late summer it produces small, stiff, pointed fruit. The clammy copper skin is thin and bitter, and the very soft beige flesh is sweet and powdery. The light brown seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
