Bluebell Bush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 91 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, wavy stems covered in ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, shield-shaped, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are indigo and cream, tough and soft.

In mid-summer it produces a thick sheet of giant, sky blue flowers with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like freshly baked bread.
