Ashy Red Moss

This ashy red moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
