Waterstem Ashblossom

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 159 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous stocky, wavy stems covered in silky, light gray bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are very long and thin that and are covered with large amounts of small, slender, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate with orange tips, durable and smooth.

It produces copious amounts of giant, ashy green flowers with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like cherry. In mid-summer it forms smallmuted orange, spiky-shelled seeds.
