Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This small leaf succulent grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The perforated stem is green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid vivid red spines. The smooth-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are found in azure and pink varieties. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in no particular order. The leaves are strong, but easily come away when pulled.
It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are gentle purple on the underside and gold on the top grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.
The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the dark grey flesh is rough, and the copper sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
